BDCM-B-Week12-BCL: SSM New Registration Number
On 11th October 2019, SSM introduced a new registration number for all companies, businesses and limited liability partnership.
For companies, businesses and limited liability partnership, SSM will still provide two registration numbers (old and new) as per below example.
Name: AMS Setia Jaya Sdn. Bhd.
No. Registration : 201901000005 (1312525-A)
The first 4 digit is to show the year that the business/company registered with ssm, follow by 2 digit that shows type of company registration and the remaining 6 as running number of registration.
For the type of company registration:-
01 Local Company
02 Foreign Company
03 Business
04 Local LLP
05 Foreign LLP
06 Professional LLP
According to the SSM press release, the old registration number especially on letter head, invoice, signboard or documents are still allow to be use until a date to be announce by SSM for enforcement. Still, better to have a new registration number than later, that's our opinion.
